A term popularized in 1992 by Neil Stephenson in a science-fiction book called Snow Crash, it describes the <strong>first simulation of space<\/strong> in which we can move around with an avatar. <\/p>\n\n<p>Today, the way it works is relatively simple: it consists of having a virtual space connected to the Internet with the aim of <strong>sharing it with several users<\/strong>. And even if, in today\u2019s society, this term remains unclear to many, it has already <strong>proved its worth to some of the<\/strong> world\u2019s <strong>biggest CEOs<\/strong>, such as Facebook boss Marc Zuckerberg, who, in 2021, is renaming his company Meta, and also intends to focus on and develop this technology over the years. <\/p>\n\n<p>It\u2019s important to remember that, despite its name, the metaverse is not a single place that groups together all virtual locations. It\u2019s more like multiple metaverses that don\u2019t necessarily communicate directly with each other. This system strengthens the company\u2019s bond with its employees, improving their working conditions and consequently their productivity.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Social networks\/media: This takes the same principle as social networks, but in an even more immersive way. A different way of communicating than on the web. Users could use the company\u2019s metaverse, or augmented reality, to communicate about the company.  <\/li><li>A new shopping experience: metavers have been an opportunity for brands for several years now, with the possibility of trying out items on the web. Why go to the store when you can use your avatar as an example? This is all the more important in the wake of the health crisis and the proliferation of online shopping.  <\/li><li>Immersive education: More relevant to the education sector, metavers are a revolutionary technological tool in this market.
