How Flipr created a great calculator with its chatbot, without a line of code

Introduce yourself and your company:

Flipr is a French company specialized in connected solutions for private pools. Our ambition is to facilitate the maintenance of a pool so that maintenance is no longer a burden, and to allow owners to reduce the cost of maintenance, and limit the waste of treatments. To do this, we have created and marketed a range of innovative products, including Flipr AnalysR, a connected water analyzer that measures water quality in real time and tells the pool owner what to do to keep the water clean and beautiful all year round.

What were your issues before launching your chatbot?

We were looking to develop a feature that would allow our prospects to easily calculate the cost of maintaining a pool, and show how our devices could help reduce that cost.

How did you come to the conclusion that a chatbot would meet these needs?

Not having an internal web developer, we did not want to invest in a restrictive web development, and especially we wanted to be able to act easily and update regularly the data of this “calculator”. The chatbot solution was obvious because the development and implementation seemed easier, and above all the interaction with the prospect was more fun and warm than with a form.

Why did you choose the Botnation solution?

Several reasons. First of all, Botnation is compatible with our CMS: this makes its implementation much easier. Moreover, Botnation has a simple interface that allows you to design your scenario in a few clicks. We needed to make the bot do some calculations, and this was perfectly feasible with the Botnation solution, again with a few clicks.

How did you build the chatbot? What was the creative process?

I don’t recall any particular complexities. The scenario is based on a few questions (and sub-questions) to the prospect, and the display of the result.

Have you been able to measure the first results?

This chatbot has a lead acquisition objective. Until the beginning of 2021, it had a simple call to action, at the bottom of the home page of our site. There was no real nurturing program involved: it was a free service offered to our prospects. We realized its importance when we inadvertently disconnected it for a few days: many prospects reported its malfunction. So we set up a more advanced tracking, and this allowed us to see that this chatbot was particularly well integrated into the conversion tunnel of our customers. Now we have placed a nurturing program on it and are monitoring the performance of this bot.

Would you have some advice for a company that also wants to launch a chatbot?

Our chatbot experience is limited because our scenario is very simple. But this may be the key to the success of this bot : its simplicity.
